SAGU AIC Welcomes Vince Roubideaux as Athletic Director
SAGU American Indian College is pleased to welcome Vince Roubideaux as Athletic Director. Vince attended SAGU AIC (then American Indian Bible College) from 1986 to 1991, completing both his A.A. in Social Work and B.A. in Ministerial Studies. He later completed his M.A.H.R. with a certificate in Substance Use Counseling through Ottawa University.
SAGU AIC has always had a special place in Vince’s heart. His sister invited him to a chapel service before he became a student. It was during that service that he gave his life to God. He also loved participating in the school’s first basketball program in the NCCAA in the late 1980s. When he became a student, he found Christian friends for the first time and enjoyed hanging out with them. But some of the best memories as a student were “learning about God in my classes and, of course, meeting my future wife, Jennifer.”
As Vince prayed for direction toward his next assignment, he found the opportunity to come back to SAGU AIC as Athletic Director. He is most excited to grow the athletic programs and mentor young people. He believes that “the athletic program is a chance for student athletes to grow in God while getting an education.” While in the program, they will also improve their skills, play at a gratifying level, and have a once in a lifetime experience.
The mission of the athletic program is to first and foremost grow the players’ spiritual lives. In addition, the athletic program’s mission is to give students a quality education and allow them opportunities to play sports. In three years, Vince’s goal is to have eight sports programs available to student athletes, which will increase the student population and give opportunities for student athletes to play multiple sports.
