On Saturday, April 30, 2022, SAGU American Indian College held a commencement ceremony in Henson Chapel to celebrate Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 graduates. The theme of the ceremony was “Awaken to the Dream,” based upon Proverbs 13:12.
The ceremony began with a procession of SAGU AIC administration, faculty, and graduates, followed by an invocation by Rev. Stephen Harris, Superintendent of the Arizona Ministry Network, and singing of the National Anthem by Alicia Sena, SAGU AIC alumna.
Dr. Joseph Saggio, Executive Vice President and Dean of the College, and Dr. Jonathan Gannon, Campus President, presented Dr. Ronald Clouse, longtime faculty member who taught in Bible, Theology, and Ministry with a service award for 12 years of distinguished service. Dr. Clouse just retired from SAGU AIC at the end of the spring semester.
Dr. Jonathan Gannon then gave his Presidential Address, encouraging graduates to become the person that God has designed them to be. He conferred the degrees, which included Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Bachelor of Arts, and Bachelor of Science.
After each graduate received their diploma and a Fire Bible, graduates Sabrina Nosie and Gabriella Ortiz spoke on their testimony and encouraged the audience to “awaken to the dream” (Proverbs 13:12).
Pastor Joel Cornelius, Vice President for Student Development, led the commissioning prayer for the graduates. Rev. Stephen Harris led the benediction. The ceremony closed on a joyous note with a recessional and a celebration that included a photo booth, refreshments, and fellowship.
SAGU AIC once again congratulates the following graduates:
